Single-wound-sheeting (laminate or poly)

Single-wound sheeting features a single layer of plastic film used for various applications, from box liners and pallet covers to furniture protectors and vapor barriers. This sheeting is a versatile solution for many industries requiring wound plastic in roll stock or sheet form. Single-wound sheeting can consist of either polythene film or laminate materials, depending on your specific application.

Caltex Plastics offers these products in various grades and colors to meet your specifications. Since 1984, we have been one of the country’s leading industrial and commercial plastic packaging manufacturers. We can help you choose the most practical and cost-effective single-wound sheeting product to optimize your packaging processes.

Single-Wound Film Features and Specifications

Caltex Plastics supplies single-wound sheeting in various polyethylene grades and 8.0-mil thicknesses. Clear, white, black and custom colors are available. Some examples of our specific materials include:

  • LDPE: Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is the most common and economical type of plastic sheeting. LDPE is highly flexible and works well with various surfaces. Its disadvantage is that it is often not strong enough for heavy-duty packaging applications that require extra protection.
  • LLDPE: Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) is more flexible and durable than LDPE. This blended form of polyethylene provides more softness and higher tensile strength to absorb impact without puncturing or tearing. This grade also maintains conformity when stretched.
  • HDPE: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is the polyethylene family’s strongest, toughest and most durable material. Many HDPE materials also offer excellent chemical resistance and ultraviolet (UV) protection. However, the material’s superior strength makes it one of the least flexible and pliable options.
  • MIL-PRF-131: This specification involves foil laminated sheeting for military and defense and other moisture-sensitive machinery.

Single-Wound Roll Stock and Poly Sheeting Applications

Single-wound poly sheeting is a staple in the packaging departments of many applications, offering an off-the-roll solution for various protective needs. If your packaging application involves consumables, we offer multiple solutions that comply with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards. Some of the industries that rely on our polyethylene and laminate single-wound sheeting include:

  • Packaging operations.
  • Military operations.
  • Defense contractors.
  • Pharmaceutical companies.
  • Food and beverage processing facilities.
  • Furniture manufacturers.
  • Chemical processing plants.
  • Agricultural operations.

Our full lineup of plastic extruders and manufacturing equipment allows us to offer custom solutions to meet your packaging specifications. We can accommodate orders in various thicknesses, roll lengths and colors using high-density or low-density resins.
